Dr. Huang Rao Hua, a Malaysia-registered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner at Yong Kang TCM, previously travelled to Chongqing, China, where she underwent professional training at Shaolintang TCM Institute. She specializes in pain management, women’s health, meridian therapy, and overall body conditioning, with extensive hands-on clinical experience.

During her training in China, Dr. Huang focused deeply on mastering Fire Meridian Therapy (刺熨疗法). She observed every step with precision—studying the properties of medicinal wine, understanding how to control the intensity of fire, and learning the relationship between meridians, heat penetration, and different conditions. Given the high technical requirements of this therapy, Dr. Huang continuously consulted her mentors and practiced repeatedly to perfect her technique, ensuring that every movement, heat level, and safety measure meets professional standards.

Fire Meridian Therapy process includes:

  • Applying medicinal wine to activate circulation

  • Gua Sha to open meridians

  • Cupping to remove stagnation

  • Point-pricking (dian ci) to support local regulation

  • Igniting the medicinal wine for fire ironing, allowing heat to penetrate layer by layer—from the skin into muscles, then deeper into the bones

  • Completing the session with a heated herbal compress for long-lasting warmth and enhanced results

Dr. Huang often observes the following responses from her patients during treatment:

  • A gradual warming on the skin, bringing comfort and relaxation

  • A deeper, slightly prickling heat sensation as it reaches the muscles

  • A penetrating warmth that reaches the bones, easing tension in the shoulders, lower back, or abdomen

As a practitioner, she understands that Fire Meridian Therapy is far more than simple “heat therapy.” It is a sophisticated combination of herbal medicine, controlled fire heat, and meridian-based regulation.

Clinically, Fire Meridian Therapy is commonly used for:

  • Neck, shoulder, waist, and leg pain

  • Women’s cold-related conditions (painful periods, cold uterus, menstrual imbalance)

  • Post-herpetic neuralgia (after shingles)

  • Cold-damp joint pain and arthritis

  • Muscle strain and injuries

  • Chronic fatigue and cold body constitution

  • Sedentary-related stiffness and lower back discomfort

At Yong Kang TCM, we strongly uphold the values of professionalism, compassion, and continuous learning. Our practitioners actively pursue advanced training locally and abroad. Dr. Huang’s trip to China, where she received systematic training in Fire Iron Therapy, is part of our commitment to bringing traditional TCM techniques back to Malaysia and expanding treatment options for our patients.

We also collaborate with various healthcare institutions, rehabilitation centres, and academic bodies to promote TCM knowledge through workshops and exchange programmes. Whether it is acupuncture, Fire Meridian Therapy, gua sha, cupping, or other traditional therapies, we aim to provide safe, scientific, and effective TCM treatments for the community.
